This year, Purbrook Junior School will be participating in Walktober 2021! The aim is to encourage more active travel on the school run but also to enable our school community to improve our mental wellbeing by connecting with the outdoors. Today, Mr Gibbs launched Walktober with an informative and intriguing assembly that has given the children a range of ideas that they could carry out over the next four weeks. Throughout the next four weeks, teachers will encourage the children to engage in a range of activities both in and out of school. At the end of October, we will be entered into a competition where pupils and the school as a whole could win a range of prizes!

Attached to this post is a flier that gives you information about the month with possible ideas as to what you and your child(ren) could get up to in order to stay active and fully embrace the outdoors, and a challenge card so you can keep track of what you have been doing. Be sure to share what you are doing with the hashtag #Walktober and tag us in your posts. You can also send what you have done to Mrs Kennett (d.kennett@purbrook- jun.hants.sch.uk).

More information can be found on the Walktober page.
