Wear yellow on Friday 8 October 2021 (If your child has PE on Friday, please ensure clothes worn are suitable for PE)
Mental health and wellbeing is a topic you will have heard more and more about. As a school we talk to the children regularly about the importance of good mental health as well as physical health. Mental health is so important to us and close to our heart that it forms a key part of our School Improvement Plan for 2021-2022. (World Mental Health Day is 10th October 2021)
We have created a Wellbeing and Mental Health team in school that is working in partnership with other schools and the Primary Behaviour Service. We recognise the need for this and want to improve the mental health and wellbeing of our community.
The wellbeing of our children – physically and emotionally is an area that all Purbrook Junior staff feel passionate about. National Statistics show that, on average, three children in every classroom have a mental health problem.
In order to acknowledge and recognise World Mental Health Day, Friday 8th October will be a non-school uniform day. We would like to show our support for others and encourage all children to wear yellow. The children can choose to wear a subtle splash of colour or dress like sunshine from head-to-toe!
Thank you as always for your brilliant support.
