2019/2020 ACHIEVEMENTS
CROSS COUNTRY
Once again we are performing well in the Cross Country League on Portsdown Hill. Over 80 children attend training every week! Our current placings are:
Havant & Waterlooville Schools League        Girls: 1ST            Boys: 1ST
SE Hants League                                           Girls: 1ST            Boys: 2ND

FOOTBALL LEAGUE
In September, the football league matches once again commenced . Our Yr 6 ‘A’ Team were placed in runner up position in the league, receiving silver medals. The ‘B’ team and the ‘C’ teams played well but did not finish in the top 3 in their leagues.

HAMPSHIRE CUP
Unfortunately, our boys were unable to progress through the rounds of the Hampshire Cup, losing to Velmead School in the early stages.

The Girls’ team are currently waiting for the field to dry out before playing their next round match.

HANTS SCHOOLS 7’S

This competition was only open to U11’s this year. We played at Wide Lane in Southampton. We performed exceptionally well, winning the tournament and progressing through to play in the Regional finals which will be played in Bristol later this term.

EFL Cup

We have entered a team in the EFL Cup again this year. The competition will take place at ROKO in Portsmouth later this term.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Two teams from Purbrook took part in an Ultimate Frisbee competition last term, hosted once again by Springwood School. We played really well, winning both groups and receiving Gold medals.

HOCKEY
Two teams took part in the local H & W School hockey tournament with one team progress through to the finals which will be held later this term. For further experience, we played in the Portsmouth League in the Autumn Term, finishing 4th.

BASKETBALL
We entered two teams once again into the Havant & Waterlooville school Basketball league this year. Our ‘A’ team dominated the league this year, securing a place in the Hampshire School Games in the summer by finishing top of the league. They will be playing in the Portsmouth league later this term.

2018/19 WAS A PHENOMENAL YEAR FOR PURBROOK JUNIOR SCHOOL!

WE FAR SURPASSED PREVIOUS YEARS WITH OUR SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS WITH MEDALS AND TROPHIES FOR THE FOLLOWING SPORTS:

CROSS COUNTRY
At the end of the Cross Country season last year we were thrilled to have the following results:

SE Hants League                                           Girls: 1ST            Boys: 3RD

HAMPSHIRE CUP
The boys played extremely well last year, with some very convincing wins, progressing the to the final. The final took place at the Front Lawn Recreation Ground. It was a very even match but we finished triumphant, retaining the cup for the 2nd year! 

HANTS SCHOOLS 7’S
Both our U10’s and U11’s played in an area tournament at Wide Lane in Southampton after both winning their local leagues the previous year. Both teams performed exceptionally well with the U10’s finishing 2nd and the U11’s 4th.

EFL Cup
We entered a team in the EFL Cup last year, which took place at ROKO in Portsmouth. After a shaky start we finally got used to playing on the small, enclosed pitches and were thrilled to win the final. We represented the area in a Regionals tournament at Oxford United in March, finishing 2nd in our group.

YEAR 3/4 TOURNAMENT
Entering a young team in the Yr 3/4 Tournament, we were hopeful of good results. We were thrilled to be awarded Gold medals – talent for the future!

PRIMARY STARS TOURNAMENT
This Tournament took part at Fratton Park. We had some tough matches but ultimately won the final, receiving Gold medals.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Three teams from Purbrook took part in an Ultimate Frisbee competition this week, hosted by Springwood School. We played really well with two teams receiving silver medals for finishing second in their leagues and the third placing fourth.

HOCKEY
Two teams were entered into the local Hockey tournaments to gain experience. Both teams gained in strength and ability and we hope to have a strong squad for future years. We played in the Portsmouth League in the New Year, finishing 3rd.

BASKETBALL
We entered two teams into the Havant & Waterlooville school Basketball league this year. Our ‘B’ team was a much younger squad and despite not placing this year, will be our talent of the future. Our ‘A’ team dominated the league this year, securing a place in the Hampshire School Games in the summer by finishing top of the league. They also won the Portsmouth league. At The Hampshire Games they were placed 2nd, with a difference of just one point, in the final.

BADMINTON
We entered 3 teams in the Havant & Waterlooville School Badminton Tournament and were pleased to win the final receiving Gold medals. The winning pair represented the area in the Hampshire finals.

INDOOR ATHLETICS
After winning the local Indoor Athletics competition, we represented Havant Schools at the County Finals, finishing 4th.

QUAD KIDS ATHLETICS
This year both our Yr 3/4 and Yr 5/6 teams finished triumphant at our local Quad Kids Competition, both being awarded Gold medals. Our Yr 5/6 team represented Havant Schools at the Hampshire Games, finishing 4th.

SE HANTS ATHLETICS – Mountbatten
The Mountbatten Centre SE Hants Athletic Meeting is the pinnacle of the Athletics season. Last year we excelled with the following trophies –

YR 3/4 GIRLS – 3RD

YR 3/4 BOYS – 1ST

YR 5/6 GIRLS – 1ST

YR 5/6 BOYS – 1ST

OVERALL POSITION – 1ST

We also had medals awarded to many of our team members for their individual performances.

TAG RUGBY
We entered 2 teams for each age group in the Tag Rugby League. The Yr 3/4 teams finished 1st in the Gold League and 3rd in the Silver League and the Yr 5/6 teams finished 2nd in the Gold League and 1st in the Silver League.

New Age Kurling
Following success at a local SEN Tournament, we represented Havant Schools at the Hampshire Games. At the end of the day, we finished 3rd, receiving Bronze medals.
