Purbrook Junior School

Historically, Purbrook have always had strong football teams, entering many tournaments and the local league. Football is played throughout the autumn and spring terms on the large school field.

Following trials, teams are selected to compete in the Hampshire Cup from September and then the leagues. The H&W Schools League runs on three levels, gold, silver and bronze, to encourage maximum participation. The leagues are aimed at years 5 & 6 but younger children may trial if invited.

We are pleased to announce that a new kit has been received from the School Priemier League Stars.  Freedom School Holidays sponsored our school football team last year and we now have 2 kits for our competitive clubs.

We played our first Hampshire Cup matches this month. The boys played against Northern Parade, winning 4  –  1, progressing through to the second round. The girls played Copnor Junior in a very close game, unfortunately losing 2  –  3.

The Year 6 Havant & Waterlooville League started this term. We have entered two teams and they both performed very well in their first evening of matches.
